Mazzy will be 4 years old in August. Josh and I are approaching that time in Mazzy's life when we need to decide if she will be "okay" jumping right into kindergarten without having attended some sort of preschool program. She does very well in her Sunday School classes which is a very shortened version of preschool. I don't doubt that she will love and excel in school; however, I do admit that at times I wonder if keeping her home until kindergarten is the right decision. Only time will tell. :-)
Today Mazzy came up to me with the letters A-D written down on a old tablet of paper belonging to my Grandma Helen. I took the tablet and proceeded to write the whole alphabet out for her to "practice" her ABC's, continuing on with E-Z . I think she did a pretty good job! Now onto lowercase...

In other news, Max is learning how to keep the paint on the paper! :-)

Mazzy has that one down.

It looks to me like you are doing great job on your own preparing her for Kindergarten!!! Her letters are fantastic!
We've done both, Olivia didn't go to preschool and Taryn has. To be honest for me it was because of money, but I don't think Olivia suffered or was behind at all because of not going.
For Taryn I think it's been more beneficial for the socializing as oppossed to the educational factor. You know her the best and I'm sure you'll make the right decision whatever that may be! :)
Wow, that's really good Keri! I agree with Lenette in that you know her best...she seems to be doing just fine!
Mazzy is a very bright child (just look at those letters!), gets loads of social interaction with other children, and, with Sunday school, is familiar with a classroom-like setting. I have no doubt that she will thrive in Kindergarten, with or without preschool. Given the high cost of preschool versus these factors, I'd say your decision is spot on. :-)
You gals have no idea how much your comments help me gain more confidence in our decision. Thank, you. Really. <3
